This weekend was a special occasion in the village where Mrs J lives. At least special in the sense that it only happens once per year.
The event is called Music in the Village, the Music part being provided by the local marching band.
Some of Mrs Js friends eyes sort of glaze over when Mrs J says she actually enjoys these occasions, but she does. And Mrs J’s village knows how to party. Mind you, this isn’t even the “real” village party. That’s coming up in two weeks. Then the fireworks come out too.
While Mrs J didn’t take any pictures of the party in full swing (she was busy, a’right?), she does feel that it deserves a special mention this year for the food. Seriously, at what village party do you get an offer like this:
Kid you not. Nothing cost more than 7 EUR. With coupons from the special party-coupon tent, as always. Food and wine on offer in the proper party food tent. And they also served serious cocktails.
The special menu came courtesy of the local upscale restaurant. How’s that for a good neighbour!
Mr and Mrs J needed about 30 seconds to get home afterwards by foot. How’s that for convenient!
It’s going to be a hard one to beat, but they’ll certainly try. Maybe next year it will be a beach party?
