Mrs J is enjoying some relaxing days here by the Baltic sea. The weather has been mixed, some sun and some cloud and rain. Mrs J doesn’t look like a lobster yet, and that’s a very good thing!

There’s been some wind so Mrs J has been trying to catch some good waves with the camera.

One day, this ship turned up.

As if transported through time.

It turns out there was a meet of a few classic ships in town. Mrs J’s great grandfather was a pilot guide (now we’re talking serious 19frozetodeath and probably even 18diedofplague). In any case, they didn’t have motorized vessels and they used to stay out on an island to save time when meeting the ships that needed piloting into the harbour. Very impressive stuff when you think about it. If you squint really hard you can see the island in the middle of the photo. If you can’t see the ship to begin with, don’t bother squinting.

Mrs J has never had any sailing ambitions. She’s more likely to be found sleeping on a sunbed listening to the breaking of the waves, or traipsing along the shore.

Sometimes looking for seaweed.

Trying not to step on the black stuff. You step on the black stuff at your own peril. You may well find yourself in the wet if you do. It’s about as slippery as a soaped eel.

Here’s what you can do with seaweed. Grab some and smack it on a smooth rock. It looks kind of like green…. err …

Anyway.

Go away and let dry over night, then carefully peel it off the cliff. Ta dah! Seaweed paper!

Perhaps not something you’d use in the office (it smells kind of funky).

In this case, the fun is in the making, not the keeping.
