Mrs J has been wanting to try the decorative foil that’s so popular right now. You can get it in different colors and use it to spice up boring plain wardrobes or any number of other things (as demonstrated by Mrs J’s more creative friends).
In this case though the primary purpose was kitchen and bathroom windows. Mrs J looked for something semi-transparent to replace some old half curtains that Master C used to snuggle with a bit too closely.
Results varied. Here’s the kitchen window.
The pattern isn’t very strong, so you get a lot of light.
The bathroom window got a stronger pattern.
It turns out these foils are pretty easy to apply – the tricky part is cutting them right.
So in summary, looks pretty good.
Master C seems to miss his snuggle-curtain a bit.
Mrs J figures some shrimp tonight is in order.
Update: Turns out the challenge is also to make these foils stay in place. The one in the kitchen is still sitting pretty, the one in the bath wilted into a roll within a day. The thinner the better, it seems.

One creative friend approves! Though it should have had more color! Bright red, orange and yellow! Especially in the bathroom! 😉
