Oooh! What goes around really comes around! This week Mrs J has become a true believer and even has the pants to prove it.
Fashion is one of those mysteries of living – in particular female living – that Mrs J has yet to fully explore and appreciate. But she is now finally old and wise enough to at least appreciate the mathematics of fashion.
Einstein is a fashion icon y’all. And we’re not talking about the hair, people.
We’re talking about fashion being relativity theory through and through. Mrs J would like to digress into a wonderful analogy of how fashion acts just like time versus space and energy and so on… but to make a long story short, it’s like this – fashion hits you on the head and you go “duh!”.
It happens to Mrs J every time she meets her stylish female friends.
The “duh!” in question here though is more of a “hello again!”. Because we’re talking about what would (apparently) in English be called cords or corduroys.
As a teenager (and yes, Mrs J is showing her age here) if there was one thing Mrs J wouldn’t be caught dead in it was corduroy pants.
And today she bough some.
She could hardly believe it herself. But they are back in fashion.
And frankly, they’re quite comfortable.
Let’s just hope we don’t get the leather penguin arms back next.
P.S. The Manchester reference for you non-Scandos? Manchestertyg = Courderoy in Scando. Probably because the best stuff was made there originally? Mrs J has no clue, really. All theories are welcome!
