It’s Mrs J’s birthday today. She has received phone calls, texts and emails from people that are important to her. To all of you (those who may also be reading this) – thanks so much. Hugs to you all!

However, Mrs J was really inspired by another piece of birthday mail sent to her (and probably a million other Internet shoppers) today.

Mrs J felt really good reading this message. Thinking about it this way, this year is the best birthday she’s had for many many many years. Not because of what she did on her birthday, or the presents she got, or because she’s reaching any kind of milestone in terms of her age.

No, this is the best birthday in her adulthood precisely because Mrs J is finally able to do those things. Think about priorities. Make her own decisions what to spend time on. Look out for herself – and others, but not because she has to, because she wants to.

Has life ever been this good? Mrs J can’t remember when that was, if ever.

It doesn’t mean everything goes the way Mrs J wants it to. Nor that she is euphoric every second of the day. But in general, Mrs J never had it this good. Realizing and recognizing this is in itself a major milestone.

So thank you, all of you persons, creatures and other entities of the universe, for making this time and this day possible.
