Mrs J is always appreciated by Mr J.
Well, almost.
Ok, so there may be times when she is less appreciated. For example when she decides to redecorate without consulting him first. Mrs J can get pretty bossy and impatient. Just sometimes, you understand.
In her defense though, Mr J isn’t really into change. Like, at all.
Actually, he may agree to long-term change. Introduced gradually over the next couple of millennia or so.
This personal concept of time makes Mr J one of the most patient people Mrs J has ever met. Which is very admirable. While thoroughly opposite to Mrs J’s usual “let’s be done yesterday” mindset.
Luckily for her, if she makes some apple dessert she gets away with just about anything.
For instant appreciation, peel apples.
Remove the core and cut in slices. Toss in caster sugar, cinnamon and cardamom. Put in a baking dish.
Make a dough mixing flour, butter, a bit of sugar and a pinch of salt. Add water by the teaspoon until it bunches up in the machine. Pinch the dough making corn-flake like bits of dough and distribute over the apples.
Cook at 225°C for 30-40 minutes (until the dough top is golden and apples are cooked through).
Let cool slightly and serve with vanilla whip or vanilla ice cream.
