….and they’re off!

The cross-country skiing season has started. Never mind that there is apparently no snow around most of Europe. We have adrenaline! That hope to see a white suit in front at the finish line lives again!

This hope will naturally be repeatedly doused by Norwegian victories over the next months. But then it will also to be rekindled by Swedish success! Already one victory this weekend, come on! Mrs J is determined to be an optimist this season.

In fact let’s get it out of the way. Yes, Norway is the greatest cross-country skiing nation on Earth. Yes, they have the best male AND female skier alive. Yes, yes, yes. Mrs J concedes the point up front. Also, Norway is a beautiful country. With lots of oil too. Which is no doubt very nice to have.

Mrs J would sometimes just like to not have this Norwegian good fortune rubbed in quite as much.

No? You like rubbing it in? Ok, guess that works too.

Actually, a little bit of rivalry makes it even more interesting. So I guess this means thank you, Norwegians!

Also, thanks Eurosport! Your commentators may not always be able to tell the difference between Ms Falla and Ms Kalla (or us Scandos in general) but at least you let us see the action. Merci buckets for that!
