It’s brown! Which is normal for autumn.

Brown, however, is an underrated colour. There are many shades of brown and many of them are incredibly vibrant. Brown is the new red, if you ask Mrs J. At least if you ask her today.

She actually really likes red. And purple. And… oh, shoot.

Newsflash. Apparently, the average blogger/twitter-user is a woman in her late thirties that likes purple. For the first time in her almost 40odd years Mrs J has finally achieved normal. This happens at a point in her life when trying to be normal is the furthest from her mind it’s ever been. How’s that for irony? So many of us spend our youths trying to be like everyone else. And just as we’re happy to stand out from the crowd … we’re normal?

Well, some say life is there to make your head explode.

Mrs J decided not to fret about her new normality. She will embrace it. Enjoy it. Recognize the unique inside the normal. Like those different textures of autumn brown.

She learned to embrace her (previous?) oddishness. Eventually. Being normal shouldn’t be a bad thing. Another part of the journey. Change happens, so keep the change …
