It’s New Years Eve, with just a few hours to go of 2012 where Mrs J lives. In Australia it’s already 2013. Mrs J wishes she knew someone in Australia, because wouldn’t it be really cool to call Next Year already? Way better than calling last year.

Note to self: Become friends with someone in Australia. (Or New Zealand.)

Mrs J’s new friend would obviously only get a call once a year, tops. Mrs J’s phone aversion persists. Happy to email you any time though. She still likes her words.

And speaking of words, it’s time to reveal Mrs J’s word of the year for 2013. It’s going to be good! Literally. Because the word IS “good”.

Selecting a new word of the year doesn’t mean that she’ll forget about joy. There will be joy in 2013, no doubt! But good will help Mrs J to balance some of the fattening and unhealthy joys with more healthy pleasures. Of course, if it feels good (or tastes good) and IS good for her, it’s a winner!

Good will also help Mrs J focus on being good enough, rather than perfect. Good, in this respect, is better than great! And of course, good will be a reminder to do good and be good to the people around her.

On that note, Mrs J would like to wish those of you not living in 2013 yet a very Good End of the Year and to everyone out there a very Happy New Year filled with an abundance of joy and all things good.
