In just a few weeks time, Mr and Mrs J will become the proud owners of a dog.
Before you get the wrong idea, Master C and Ms Crazypants are doing absolutely fine. They are looking forward to getting a new subject servant playmate. No doubt they will continue to rule the house. They are, after all, cats.
Talk to the paw, dog.
The new dog will need a name. So of course Mrs J has been floating creative dog name ideas to Mr J. Should it start with a C, like the names of the cats? Should it be cute? Should it be regal? Not too long. Not too complicated. Something that works in German, French, English AND Scando? And doesn’t sound like any of the basic commands in any of those languages???
Maybe we should name the dog after someone we know and like? Or could naming a dog after a human possibly be taken the wrong way?
Mrs J is not sure about the etiquette of dog-naming.
There are lists and lists of hundreds, thousands, millions of popular dog names available on the Internet. By the time Mrs J gets to “F” on any of these lists, Mr J is long gone. Apparently he thinks Mrs J is obsessing again.
For some reason.
Anyway, there are still a few weeks to go before the name needs to be decided. So you’ll have to wait for that particular announcement. Also, chances are good that Mrs J will be writing more about the cat – dog relationship over the course of this year.
Stay tuned for more furry fun…

Mr J should wait until F. F is good for Friday. You are picking him/her up on good Friday. So he/she can be Friday. Good Friday. BAD Friday! Sit Friday.
Of course you are allowed to call her Mimi if it’s a girl 🙂
My name’s Tess and there’s been many an occassion when I tell people my name and they say ‘oooh I know a dog called Tess’ doesn’t bother me must mean it’s a good name 🙂 Good luck with the dog naming!
